REVIEW: PHLUR MOOD RING SCENT TRANSPORTED MY SENSES TO AN EXPENSIVE CANDY STORE<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Have you ever taken a whiff of a fragrance and noticed that it instantly boosts your mood? Well, there\u2019s a reason for that. Not to get too science-y, but studies have shown that certain scents can activate the release of neurotransmitters including serotonin, dopamine, and endorphins which contribute to feelings of happiness and joy. For example, citrus notes can energize you, lavender can have a calming effect, and sandalwood can get you in the mood<\/em>. One brand that has expertly taken this idea and bottled it up is Phlur. Known for their viral Missing Person Perfume<\/a>, this brand concocts the most delicious scents that feed off of our deepest emotions and memories. While I adore many of the perfumes in their repertoire, there\u2019s one that I reach for whenever I need a pick-me-up\u2014Phlur Mood Ring Eau de Parfum. THE SCENT-SPIRATION<\/strong> BEHIND PHLUR MOOD RING<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

One of the newer additions to the brand\u2019s collection, this fragrance was designed to take your senses on a euphoric candy-laden trip. The perfumer Frank Voelkl, who created this scent masterpiece, wanted this fragrance to \u201cmake you think you\u2019re smelling in color,\u201d. And it really does just that. It\u2019s made to transport your senses to the most tripped-out candy store you\u2019ve ever been to with nostalgic confectionery notes mixed with uplifting citrus that gives your senses (and mind!) a euphoric feeling. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

WHAT IT SMELLS LIKE<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

This vibrant fruity scent is a confectionary masterpiece for those with an affinity for a fruit-forward gourmand like myself. It offers that nostalgic candy-esque sweetness through notes of gummies, which I haven\u2019t seen much in fragrances made for adults. Unlike other scents that claim to have notes of candy or gummies in them, the fragrance inside the acid green bottle actually<\/em> smells just like a juicy fruit-filled gummy I often ate as a kid, but with a more sophisticated flair. As someone in their early thirties, I appreciate that this scent walks the line between being youthful and more grown-up. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

KEY NOTES<\/strong> <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Top: Pitaya Pulp, Orange, Fruit Gummies<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Heart: Orange Flower, Jasmine Sambac, Marigold Bloom<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Base: Patchouli, Glazed Musks, Amber<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I noticed I was hit with a burst of bright orange zest and dragon fruit once the gummy notes faded, which made my heart and mind instantly happier. After the citrusy notes die down a bit, the effervescent florals including sunshine-y marigolds and dreamy orange flower join the party.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

OUR FINAL THOUGHTS <\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

I would consider Phlur Mood Ring a scent to spray on when you\u2019re in need of a little mood boost. It’s overwhelmingly delicious in my opinion, and takes me back to my childhood for an instant. If you\u2019re in the market for a new sweet citrus scent to brighten every day then this is the one to grab.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
