For us, the journey begins with the forest as a place of bewilderment, with sunlight engaging in shadow play for its inhabitants. It then moves to each tree and the perplexing duality of its branches reaching for the sky, as well as the roots that ground it. We imagine the dry wooden barrels drenched in perfume essence, where the main notes of the scent mingle with the wood used to create said barrels. Like the art of aging alcohol, the final result is not necessarily a scent per se, but an artistic triumph.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cCreating a fragrance for Scents of Wood is a singular experience in the life of a perfumer. The only guideline we receive is one word, the name of a tree. We are free to take this simple starting point in any direction we want, any emotion, any memory. When the creation is complete, we get to choose a wooden barrel in which we age organic alcohol to produce the final scent.
