In our September Issue of Scents of Style, we caught up with Laura Vila, a creator whose love for scent is just as strong as her passion for fashion and DIY, plus her sense of adventure, as she has gone skydiving twice. When it comes to getting dressed, Laura Vila knows that fragrance is the final piece of the puzzle. It’s the last detail that makes the statement and leaves an unforgettable impression. From sweet figs to musky vibes, Laura’s fragrance philosophy is all about balancing complexity with comfort. Keep reading to find out what makes her tick in the world of scents and style.
1. What were your first impressions of Casa Blanca by House of Bo?
I immediately picked up on the fig notes—super fruity and sweet, but still clean. It’s a complex fragrance, which is exactly what I love and expect from a fragrance house like House of Bo.
2. How do places inspire your scent selection and nostalgia around scent?
Scent is the strongest connection to memory! Whether I’m at NY Fashion Week or chilling at the beach, I choose a fragrance that ties back to the moment, making sure I remember it every time I catch a whiff.
3. Best beauty or styling advice you’ve ever received?
An outfit is never complete without a fragrance! Christian Dior said it best: ‘Perfume is a mark of female identity and the final touch of her style.’
4. What are your top 3 essentials for attending Fashion Week?
Fashion tape, sneakers for the in-between shows, and lipstick for those all-important touch-ups!
5. Where’s your favorite spot in NYC?
You can’t visit NYC without going to Central Park. It’s an absolute must!
