Hi Carlos, thank you for being part of our Scents of Style series. We know you’re a men’s aesthetic fashion and lifestyle content creator, so tell us something that we don’t know:
Fun fact: I have enough suits to make an outfit that represents any country’s flag colors.
What does a fragrance need to have or exude to make it to your favorite fragrance rotation list?
My favorite fragrance notes are vetiver, agarwood (oud), and tobacco. When it comes to favorite scents, I often gravitate towards musky colognes that are bold and fresh at the same time.
How does scent fit into your GRWM routine?
When I’m in love with a scent, I tailor all my looks to fit that style of fragrance. If I’m in jeans, I make sure I have a button-up with a blazer and if I’m in sneakers I make sure I’m in proper trousers. I love to elevate my looks with my favorite fragrance.
We would love to hear your thoughts on the interconnection of scents and style:
To me, your outfits are your first impression and your scent is the lasting impression. No one remembers what you say, but they do remember how you smell.
You’re a major fan of French artisan house INITIO Parfums Privés. Please tell us which one is your favorite scent from INITIO and briefly explain the scent’s vibe.
My favorite is INITIO Oud for Greatness. I find it to be the perfect balance for any event and an everyday fragrance, especially in the business of dressing up. There is so much to this scent that you smell something new every day. It’s so complex and bold – but the subtleness is what makes this a wonder of a scent experience. The best part about it is that it is smoky and sweet, just like my attitude. I love how the scent just hits you, yet it’s so soothing after realizing the notes of natural oud wood and patchouli.
